ADA Transition Plan

The City of Brookhaven is committed to providing public facilities that are accessible to all members of the community. The purpose of this ADA Transition Plan is to self-evaluate the pedestrian facilities within the City rights-of-way such as sidewalks and curb ramps. The City is also committed to meet the obligations under Title II of the Americans with Disability Act (ADA).

The City’s ADA Transition Plan inventories all the facilities within the City rights-of-way, identifies the barriers of accessibility and priorities the improvements that needed to meet compliance. The City updates the ADA Transition Plan periodically to reflect progress made toward ADA goals and to reflect current plans for investments, repairs, and maintenance of ADA facilities.

The City of Brookhaven has initiated an update of the ADA Transition Plan in 2023-2024.  Prior to the 2024 update, the plan was most recently updated in November 2020.
