Stratfield Drive (3431 & 3424) Storm Sewer Rehabilitation
Updated 3/5/24
Created 1/2/24
Construction Progress - Anticipated Schedule Start, DELAYED until April due to an Emergency Repair needed at another location where the street has partially collapsed over the storm sewer pipe. This collapsed pipe requires our storm repair contractor to mobilize their resources at the emergency repair location.
Stratfield Drive is still very much on the radar and will be addressed as soon as possible.
Stay tuned for more updates!
Initial Construction work will be locating underground utilities (gas service, water service, telecommunications, electric, etc.) field verification for storm pipe construction.
Background
Field inspections have determined the drainage system downstream of the previous stormwater rehabilitation at 3431 Stratfield Drive has deteriorated and is extremely corroded, creating voids underneath the pipe, resulting in sinkholes in the easement areas. Upon further inspection, its been discovered the entire existing CMP pipe run from the drop inlet installed with the 3431 Stratfield project, upstream, to the headwall behind 3424 Stratfield Drive requires replacement.
The majority of this project is between two homes along a drainage easement on one side of Stratfield Drive, and across the front yard of a home on the opposite side of Stratfield Drive. A portion of the project is across Stratfield Drive, within the Right-of-Way.
This rehabilitation work consist will consist of replacement of the upstream portion, as follows:
- replacement of approximately 300 LF of 24” CMP with 24" ADS HP Storm polypropylene drainage pipe,
- replacement of two catch basins
- replacement of the existing junction box at 3424 Stratfield Drive
- replacement of the existing downstream headwall (with energy dissipation).
