Business Licensing
The Brookhaven Business Licensing Office assists businesses in obtaining the Occupational Tax Certificate required for legal business operation in the City of Brookhaven. Additional functions include alcohol licensing and excise tax collection.

Alcohol Licenses
An alcohol privilege license is required for any establishment selling or serving alcohol beverages within the city. Wholesalers or importers in alcoholic beverages, who are licensed by the State and have a place of business in the city, are also required to obtain an alcohol privilege license.
Alcohol License Renewal - Effective 2023
Effective 2023, City of Brookhaven will not be using Avenu for alcohol license renewals. Alcohol license renewals will be processed by the City of Brookhaven Finance Department.
Please complete the 2024 alcohol license renewal application and mail to 4362 Peachtree Rd Brookhaven, GA 30319 along with your payment. We accept check or money orders.

Business Licenses
To operate a business in Brookhaven, you must have a current occupational tax certificate, commonly referred to as a business license. Other permits and licenses may also be required, depending on what type of business you plan to operate.
We accept check, and credit card. Currently, the city can only accept credit card payments made in person at City Hall, 4362 Peachtree Rd. NE, Brookhaven, GA 30319.
Business License Renewals - effective January 2024
The City of Brookhaven began using a new online business license registration and renewal system called GovOs. The new portal allows businesses to create a registration account that enables them to file directly to pay business license fees. The city has mailed existing business owners letters with instruction on how to activate their accounts. Please follow the direction on the letter or contact the city if you haven't received a letter.

Please note that we are in the process of issuing renewal business licenses for 2024.
If you have submitted all documents and completed the calculation sheet in the portal please allow 3-4 business days for your account to be reviewed and approved.
Walk-Ins for Business and Alcohol licenses will be on Tuesday's and Thursday's at the Brookhaven City Hall.
The deadline for Renewal Business License is April, 30th 2024.
