North Druid Hills Road Streetscape Project – from Buford Highway to Gail Drive
This project will complete the streetscape improvements (typical cross section – see project LT-01 in the North Druid Hills Road Corridor Study (https://www.brookhavenga.gov/publicworks/page/north-druid-hills-road-corridor-study-0)) from Buford Highway to Gail Drive NE along North Druid Hills Road (approximately 2,700 linear feet). This section includes a continuous 5-foot-wide sidewalk on the western side of North Druid Hills Road and a 10-foot-wide multi-use path on the eastern side. ADA accessible ramps and crosswalk striping where missing will be installed. Pedestrian scale lighting along with street furniture will be included. A short section of raised median is proposed just south of the Red Roof Inn driveway. A pedestrian crossing is proposed for just south of Gail Drive along with a raised island refuge and actuated flashing beacon.
Funding Source: This project is funded by the City’s Special Service District millage rate.
Status Update (February 9, 2024): The project is currently in the design phase of development. The design work is approximately 80% complete and is anticipated to be complete by the summer of 2024.
Status Update (November 15, 2023): The project is currently in the design phase of development. The design work is approximately 75% complete and is anticipated to be complete by the first quarter of 2024.
