Last Mile Connectivity Study

The cities of Brookhaven, Sandy Springs and Dunwoody, and the Perimeter Community Improvement Districts (PCIDs) have partnered to conduct a study related to Last Mile Connectivity in and around the Perimeter area.

Last Mile Connectivity (LMC) addresses the connections between transit stops and stations or hubs, and final destinations such as residences, offices and retail areas. LMC addresses multimodal connections within and between activity centers including Perimeter Center, providing people choices other than the automobile for shorter trips, or to connect longer trips.

The Study is intended to provide a clear vision for future multi-modal transportation needs in the Perimeter market. It will include a consolidated program of investments in bicycle, pedestrian, trail, and roadway facilities, and an exploration of existing and future transit opportunities. The goal is to offer a network of safe, easy, and convenient opportunities for people to walk, bike, or take transit within the Perimeter area.

The consultant preparing the study made a presentation to the Brookhaven City Council on Jan. 10, 2017.  The organizations hosted a Public Information Open House on Jan. 26, 2017 to provide the community with information about the study and to solicit input from participants.

The consultant has compiled all public comments that were received and has completed the Final Draft Report for presentation to the City Councils of the three cities and the PCID's Boards.  The consultant presented the Final Draft Report to the Brookhaven City Council on Feb. 28, 2017, for their consideration and approval at a future city council meeting.
