Dresden Drive Sidewalk – from Apple Valley Road to Clairmont Road

Dresden Drive Sidewalk Project

This project will construct a continuous sidewalk along the northern side of Dresden Drive from Apple Valley to Claremont Road (approximately 8,700 linear feet). This includes approximately 4,000 linear feet of new construction and the replacement of existing substandard sidewalk segments and ADA ramps. Improvements will include the adjustment of the existing granite curbing to a 6” height above asphalt. New granite curb will be installed where damaged or missing. The culvert/bridge structure located between Winding Lane NE and South Bamby Lane NE is not included as part of this project.

Funding Source: This project is funded by the City’s Special Service District millage rate.

Status Update (February 9, 2024):  The project is currently in the design phase of development.  The design work is approximately 65% complete and is anticipated to be complete by the summer of 2024A contract amendment for the design consultant is under review to incorporate subsurface utility (SUE) locates and additional field surveying in locations where storm sewer infrastructure will be constructed.

Status Update (November 15, 2023):  The project is currently in the design phase of development.  The design work is approximately 60% complete and is anticipated to be complete by the first quarter of 2024A contract amendment for the design consultant is under review to incorporate subsurface utility (SUE) locates and additional field surveying in locations where storm sewer infrastructure will be constructed.

Status Update (September 9, 2023):  The project is currently in the design phase of development.  The design work is approximately 50% complete and is anticipated to be complete by early winter.

Status Update (June 20, 2023):  The project is currently in the design phase of development.  The design work is approximately 30% complete and is anticipated to be complete by late fall. Preliminary discussions are ongoing with utility providers to potentially relocate aerial utilities to underground.

Status Update (May 3, 2023):  The project is currently in the design phase of development.  The design work notice to proceed was issued on February 28, 2023, and the design work is anticipated to be complete in late Fall 2023. Field surveying data collection was completed in April.

Status Update (March 3, 2023):  The project is currently in the design phase of development.  The design work notice to proceed was issued on February 28, 2023, and the design work is anticipated to take approximately 8 months to complete.  Field surveying activities should begin the week of March 12, 2023.
