The mission of the Brookhaven Finance Department is to provide accounting and financial support to City departments, City management, and the Mayor and City Council to optimize their efficiency and effectiveness in carrying out the overall goals and objectives of the City. Safeguarding the City's assets include preparation and administering the annual and capital budgets, service any outstanding City debt, procuring services, supplies and equipment for City departments, revenue collection, accounting, financial reporting, accounts payable, payroll and debt administration.

Special note for restaurants with valid alcohol licenses:  On Nov. 13,  2018, the Brookhaven City Council unanimously accepted and validated the DeKalb County certification of election results for revised Sunday alcohol sales, also commonly known as the “Brunch Bill”.  Subsequently, the council adopted an ordinance reaffirming that restaurants with valid licenses can serve alcohol beverages beginning as early as 11 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 18, 2018.

Special note for Business License Renewals - effective 2018: Beginning in 2018, the City of Brookhaven outsourced business license renewal collections to Avenu in Birmingham, AL.  Occupational Tax/Business License Renewal Forms can be found here.  This service is for renewals only.  New business license applications are only accepted at Brookhaven City Hall.
