On February 15, 2023, City of Brookhaven City Council approved the contract to construct the new bridge on W. Nancy Creek Bridge.  The Contract was awarded to Southeastern Site Development.  Anticipated completion of the bridge is by the end of Spring, first part of Summer 2023.

Updated: January 5, 2023

Demolition of the West Nancy Creek Bridge is complete.  For the duration of the project, residents are encouraged to stay clear of the site for their own safety.

The water main crossing the creek at the existing bridge has been capped and removed – neither the potable water quality, nor the water pressure in the direct vicinity should be impacted.  Potable water concerns should be directed to DeKalb County Watershed Management.

Design Documents are complete and have been permitted by the required governing authorities.  Bid Documents are complete and the project is being advertised.  Bid documents are due on Feb 7, 2023 and a Contractor will be selected after the review of the bids.  Anticipated completion of the bridge is by the end of Spring, 2023.

Updated: October 28, 2022

The contractor for the City has begun prep work for demolition of the bridge (this will include utility relocations currently attached to the bridge) and will continue until the existing bridge has been removed (schedule is weather dependent). As a reminder the bridge is closed to all vehicular AND pedestrian traffic. Once demolition activity begins residents are encouraged to stay away from the site for your own safety.
