Brookhaven completes Phase 1 of 2018 paving list

Seventeen roads totaling 2.21 miles are now Brookhaven’s smoothest

Brookhaven, GA, April 6, 2018 – The City of Brookhaven has made substantial progress toward an aggressive 2018 paving schedule with the completion of all roads in Phase 1 on March 29.  Seventeen roads totaling 2.21 miles have been resurfaced or fully reconstructed.

In November, the Brookhaven City Council authorized a measure to jump-start the 2018 paving and leveraging the pricing schedule provided in its 2017 paving contract.  In 2017, Brookhaven paved 12.2 miles of road.

Brookhaven is accepting bids for Phase 2 of the 2018 paving season until April 13, which will encompass up to 5 more miles of roads.  Once a contractor is selected from these competitive bids, the Brookhaven Public Works Department will issue a Notice to Proceed and paving of these Phase 2 roads will begin in early Summer.
