Updated: 8/18/23
Construction Progress - CONSTRUCTION COMPLETED
Background
This system is on a list of failing metal pipes under streets scheduled for resurfacing in the 2024 street paving lists. Field Inspections and assessment of the condition of stormwater infrastructure identified this culvert, one (1) drop inlet, concrete flume, and headwall are failing and need replacement. The defects in the multi-material 12" culvert, consisting of sections of vitrified clay pipe, PVC , RCP and CMP, under Inman Drive included failing joint, cracked pipes, and a heavily corroded pipe flowing in the CMP section.
The rehabilitation work scope will be as follows:
- replacement of the 12” culvert (consisting of sections of vitrified clay, PVC and CMP pipe) under the roadway with 15" Reinforced Concrete Pipe (RCP),
- Replace one (1) drop inlet structure with open grated top for area drainage on upstream side of the roadway,
- Reconstruct flume,
- Reconstruct outfall and headwall with energy dissipation,
- Concrete patch and asphalt surfacing across roadway storm sewer excavation work
