Coosawattee Drive Storm Sewer Repair is COMPLETED as of June 8th.

Background

A DeKalb County Department of Watershed Management water main cut through the vitrified clay pipe (VCP) culvert under Coosawattee Dr at this location causing the pipe to collapse and fail.  This and other defects caused street and sidewalk settlement and restricted drainage through the culvert

The rehabilitation work scope has been changed to work within the road Right of Way. Scope of this work is as follows:

  • replacement of the 15” VCP culvert under the roadway with 18" HDPE Drainage Pipe,
  • Construct new knee-wall and flume to new inlet at upstream side of roadway to prevent storm drainage erosion from roadway
  • Concrete patch and asphalt surfacing across roadway storm sewer excavation work.
  • replacement of the speed hump.
