Background

The existing catch basin structure has been impacted by vehicles leaving the roadway and/or turning the corner and failing to properly navigate the road. This has resulted in catch basin top and brick structure damage, as well as curb and gutter damage. the catch basin structure has suffered brokena nd loosend bricks falling into the bottom of the catch basin restricting some flow. The catch basin of the top has been knocked out of place and poses a safety hazard to the existing traffic flow at this location.

The rehabilitation work scope will be as follows:

  • Remove existing tree and landscaping (only as necessary) in alignment of CB replacement at the median locations.
  • Install one GDOT 1033D single wing catch basin to replace existing brick CB on the 24”/30”” conveyance.
  • Curb Restoration: Replace or construct approximately 90 LF of curb and gutter at both the median noses and radius. New curb shall be reinforced 8 inches tall, gutter 24 inches.
  • Concrete patch and asphalt surfacing of removal areas adjacent to curb & gutter repalcement.
