Community Policing

Community policing is a philosophy that promotes organizational strategies that support the systematic use of partnerships and problem-solving techniques to proactively address the immediate conditions that give rise to public safety issues such as crime, social disorder, and fear of crime.

The Brookhaven Police Department is dedicated to making sure it stays connected with its citizens and the community in general.  The department has a dedicated unit to handle community relations and organizing community events.  These officers attend HOA and other neighborhood meetings, school and church functions, and any other community oriented functions.  While in attendance, officers discuss general safety tips and ways to help make Brookhaven a safer community.

Throughout the year the department hosts several community oriented events.  These events allow citizens to connect with our officers on a personal level to help fortify the bond between the department and the community.  Some of our events include Coffee with a cop, Copsicles, National Night Out, Faith and Blue, Hot Pursuit Glow Run, and Shop with a badge.  These events are held throughout the year.  Follow us on our social media sites to ensure you stay informed on upcoming events.

For more information on how to schedule an officer for your event please contact Officer Carlai Moore via email at Carlai.Moore@BrookhavenGa.Gov.
