Phase I

Brookhaven Peachtree Creek Greenway Model Mile

The Model Mile is Here

A bright, brisk winter day became the perfect backdrop for the grand opening and ribbon cutting of the new Peachtree Creek Greenway on Dec. 12, 2019 exactly one year from the groundbreaking event for this historic construction project. Attended by over 100 invited guests and residents, the historic milestone marked the completion of the first phase of the PCG and set the stage for the beginning of phase II .

Phase I quickly became known as the region's "Model Mile."  It's 14-foot width, overhead lighting, wayfaring signs, trail heads, and amenities were all developed in conjunction with the Brookhaven Community through the Peachtree Creek Greenway Advisory Board. Those thoughtful recommendations have become the hallmark for planning as the Greenway takes on regional focus. Neighboring cities have taken staff and community tours to imagine how the design can be supported in their own communities.

As use of the trail has skyrocketed, Brookhaven has launched Phase Ib, and in the fall of 2022 will complete improvements along the walk, inviting users to stay and play with a new slide area for kids , a hammock area, benches and more.

Phase I has vehicle entrances and parking off North Druid Hills Road and Briarwood Road. Please use caution on Briarwood where the City's new Public Safety Center will open in early 2023, as it is subject to limited parking due to construction.
