New Lynwood Park pool and splash pad official ribbon-cutting ceremony this Saturday

Brookhaven, GA, July 19, 2023 – The community is invited to a ribbon-cutting celebration for Lynwood Park’s new pool and splash pad on Saturday, July 22, at 10 a.m. (3360 Osborne Rd NE, Brookhaven, GA 30319). The pool and splash pad opened to the public on Saturday, June 17, just in time for summer.

The lap pool and splash pad are part of the Parks Bond projects, approved by voters in 2018 after substantial public input. Lynwood Park improvements also include a new pavilion and synthetic turf field, which are available for rental at https://www.brookhavenga.gov/parksrec/page/programs-reservations

“I invite everyone to come out, enjoy the pool, the new facilities, and see the historic transformation of Lynwood Park.” said Mayor Pro Tempore and District 1 Councilwoman Linley Jones.

Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, there will be complimentary popsicles from King of Pops.

The splash pad features a zero-depth area with multiple spray features and a 1-foot-deep wading pool with a slide. The lap pool is 3-feet-6-inches to 5-feet deep. A new pool house includes men’s and women’s restrooms with changing areas and showers, a concession room, lifeguard room, and office. The pool house also has restrooms accessible from the turf field. The new pavilion, outside the pool fence, is available for small group use and rental.

The synthetic turf field is striped for youth soccer and youth baseball/softball and can also be used for kickball. A second pavilion is located at the field.

Additional parking was added as part of the project, 70 spaces are accessible off Osborne Rd and 22 spaces are accessible off Mendell Circle.

Lynwood pool and splash pad hours:

Mondays-Thursdays, 12-6 p.m.

Fridays-Saturdays, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.

Sundays, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
