Dedication ceremony for Rebecca Chase Williams Park

Brookhaven, GA, Jan. 4, 2024 – The City of Brookhaven is holding a special dedication ceremony to name approximately 14 acres of greenspace on Johnson Ferry Road in honor of former Brookhaven Mayor Rebecca Chase Williams.

The event will be held on Friday, Jan. 5 at 2 p.m. at 1621 Johnson Ferry Road in Brookhaven.

“Rebecca Chase Williams dedicated years toward saving this acreage from development and providing a passive area that preserves the quality of life for our existing residents,” said Mayor Pro Tempore Linley Jones. “For this reason, it is fitting to name this space the Rebecca Chase Williams Park.”

Brookhaven acquired the land in June 2022, and it is the third largest greenspace acquisition in nearly 10 years.

The City is currently removing invasive vegetation in the area.  It is anticipated that the area will ultimately be used as passive greenspace purposes.
