Brookhaven, GA, Nov. 15, 2022 – The Georgia Recreation and Parks Association (GRPA) recognized Brookhaven Parks and Recreation as the State Agency of 2022 at its annual conference on Wednesday, Nov. 9.

“One of the catalysts for the creation of the City of Brookhaven was a commitment to quality and care of the parks in this community,” said City Manager Christian Sigman. “That commitment was reaffirmed in 2018 when voters overwhelmingly passed a $40 million Park Bond to implement the vision of Park Master Plans.  As the 10-year anniversary of the founding of Brookhaven draws near, it is very gratifying that the GRPA has recognized our accomplishments.”

“The Brookhaven Parks and Recreation Department is dedicated to serving an active and critical role in the community's quality of life,” said Parks and Recreation Director Brian Borden. “The secret to our success is the hard work of our staff, who are on the front line of providing the variety of recreational opportunities that meets the needs of all residents.”

About the GRPA: The Mission of the GRPA is support and promotion of recreation and park agencies within the state of Georgia while encouraging healthy lifestyles for our citizens.  Visit https://grpa.org/ for more information.
