Brookhaven children invited to ‘Pick a Playground’

Brookhaven, GA, Sept. 12, 2023 – Brookhaven children are invited to ‘Pick a Playground’ during an event hosted by Mayor Pro Tem and District 1 Councilwoman Linley Jones on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 4 to 6 p.m. in Murphey Candler Park.
This event will be similar to the playground planning event held during the park planning process in 2018 that led to the beloved castle playground on the east side of the park today. Children and their families will be able to give input to decide the permanent “tiny tot” playground equipment for very young children at this site.
“We heard residents’ wishes for a playground designed for younger children, and we invite them to come out and help us plan the ‘Tot Lot,’” said Councilwoman Jones. “We’ll have boards up with options for our little ones to pick from. Who better to decide what this special playground will include?”
The playground will be located on Horseshoe Road, designed by Kompan playground company, and completed by summer 2024.
“Pick a Playground” will take place in the pavilion next to the Community Green on Horseshoe Road off Candler Lake E.
