Financial Transparency

The City of Brookhaven's Finance Department strives for integrity and transparency. It has earned the Excellence in Financial Reporting Award from the Government Finance Officers Association for five consecutive years. The award is the highest form of recognition for government financial reporting and accounting, according to the Government Finance Officers Association.

The Finance Department is committed to full transparency, and offers a number of ways to examine the City of Brookhaven's use of funds. Click the links below for the City's budget, p-card (credit card) reports, bids and RFPs (active, closed and awarded), independently audited financial reports, and the Citizen Transparency portal.

The expenditure viewer below enables the public to search for items like vendor payments, total expenditures and other transactions pertaining to the City’s budget and see actual budgeted amounts and expenditures to date. There is access to budgets, by department, including approved budget numbers, rollovers from the previous year  and current encumbrances (contractual commitments). Also accessible are updated figures on capital improvement projects and restricted revenues that can be specifically used for certain projects such as SPLOST funds, 911 expenses or grant monies. To help explain the expenses and make them even more relatable, the new portal “pages” also features pie charts and bar graphs in addition to line items.
