Community members invited to participate and share input on the future of Brookhaven – public engagement kicks off in October

Brookhaven, GA, Sept. 20, 2023 – The City of Brookhaven officially kicked off the 10-year update to Brookhaven’s Comprehensive Plan in a public hearing before City Council at its Aug. 22 regular meeting. In-person and online engagement opportunities, including a series of community workshops, an online survey and map input tool, and more, get underway in early October.

October Workshop Details

Join us at one of four interactive workshops in different areas of the City at which community members can share their perspective on Brookhaven’s citywide land-use vision, near-term needs and opportunities, and opportunities and policies specific to Brookhaven’s different neighborhoods and activity hubs.

The web-based community survey and other online input opportunities will launch with the first workshop on Thursday, Oct. 5.

The 10-year update will build upon the City’s current Comprehensive Plan, while refining the plan to reflect new priorities and needs to support desired growth, development, and related needs. The City will work with community members to explore topics that impact future land use and development, including housing options, economic development, sustainability initiatives, transportation and walkability, infrastructure needs, and more. Community engagement is fundamental to developing and implementing a successful plan.
