Arbor Day Event

Brookhaven, GA, Feb. 16, 2024 – To celebrate Brookhaven’s Arbor Day and the City’s renewal of Tree City USA Certification, the City’s arborists have planned a hands-on experience for Brookhaven residents.

Arbor Day is observed annually in all 50 states, usually in early spring, and celebrates the role trees play in our lives today and into the future. The best time to plant trees in Georgia is between November and mid-March because it gives trees a chance to become established before the hot, dry period of summer. That is why Arbor Day is celebrated earlier every year in Georgia.

This event will include education and training sessions on small and large tree pruning, planted tree establishment care, and long-term tree care and soil management.

Residents are encouraged to join in on the experience, Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024, at 10 a.m. in Blackburn Park, 3493 Ashford Dunwoody Road.

Click here to RSVP. Not required but would be appreciated!
