Brookhaven conducts resident satisfaction survey

Brookhaven, GA, Jan. 5, 2023 – The City of Brookhaven is conducting a resident satisfaction survey. The survey will compile resident feedback on a wide variety of City services and programs and gather respondent information. The surveys were mailed in December to a representative statistical sampling of Brookhaven’s population.

“The purpose of the survey is to gather feedback on city programs and services. It will be a valuable tool used to measure the success of our delivery of local government services and help plan for the future,” said City Manager Christian Sigman. “Actively engaging residents helps us identify areas where we can improve.”

The survey is being administered by ETC Institute, a national leader in survey research and has conducted hundreds of customer satisfaction surveys for cities across the country. A representative sample of Brookhaven residents was chosen at random to participate in the survey. Selected households will have the opportunity to complete the survey by mail or online.

The survey will ask residents about their level of satisfaction and priorities for a wide range of community services including public safety, parks and recreation, code enforcement, public works, communication and customer service. It will take participants approximately 15 minutes to complete a survey. All personnel information will remain confidential.

The goal is to achieve a minimum of 400 completed surveys. ETC consultants will monitor the distribution of the sample to ensure that it reasonably reflects the demographic composition of the City with regard to age, geographic dispersion, gender, race/ethnicity and other factors.

The survey results will be presented to the City Council once the threshold for accuracy is reached, and then will be made available to the public.

“I hope that everyone who receives a Brookhaven Satisfaction Survey will take the time to either fill out the paper copy or submit it online as soon as possible. The responses provide a roadmap to identify the opportunities and challenges facing the community and a means of measuring the progress as issues are addressed over the years,” said Sigman.

Sigman further added, “The survey covers all City operations, but includes extended questions on police / community interaction and perceptions of the safety within the City of Brookhaven.”
