Brookhaven Convention and Visitors Bureau holds inaugural meeting

Brookhaven, GA, March 6, 2018 – The Brookhaven Convention and Visitors Bureau (BCVB) held its inaugural meeting Friday, March 2 to establish board leadership and begin setting up operations.  The BCVB was created under the City’s charter and authorizes the City to contract with other governmental, agencies or non-profit organizations to promote tourism, conventions and trade shows.

Jay Groundwater, who serves as Chair of the Brookhaven Chamber of Commerce, was unanimously elected as BCVB Chairman.  Rich Levy, Senior Vice President of Artist Rights at Live Nation, was unanimously elected to serve as Vice-Chair.  Both will serve two-year terms.

Brookhaven City Clerk Susan Hiott and Chief Financial Officer Steve Chapman were elected to serve respectively as BCVB Secretary and Treasurer for a period of six months. 

In other business, the BCVB formed a subcommittee to begin to establish parameters for the search for an executive director for the organization.  All board members are also reviewing the current BCVB Charter for any errors or omissions.

  • Burke Brennan, Brookhaven Director of Communications

The next meeting of the BCVB will be held April 6, at location to be determined.
