City Council wrap-up for the Sept. 27 meeting

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Brookhaven, GA, Sept. 27, 2022 – The Brookhaven City Council acted on several items in its Sept. 27 meeting: 

  • The Council held a public hearing and unanimously voted to defer an ordinance to amend Chapter 27, Article VII Division 12, Section 27.722 - TA22-01: Donation Box Text Amendment to a future meeting to explore the possibility of adding a charitable organization requirement.
     
  • The Council held a public hearing and unanimously approved an ordinance amending Brookhaven Zoning Code - Chapter 27, Article VII, Division 4, Section 27-588 - TA22-02: Household Living (Adding 7 Varying Unit Sizes).
     
  • The Council unanimously approved a resolution appointing Trustee Chris Young to the Brookhaven Convention and Visitors Bureau.
     
  • The Council unanimously approved a consent agenda which included:
    • The minutes of the Sept. 13 Work Session and Regular Meeting.
    • A contract with Pattterson Pope in the amount of $110,285.57 for storage and space saver equipment for the new Public Safety Building.
    • Adoption of the 2021 CDBG Action Plan Consolidated Annual Performance Evaluation Report.
       
  • The Council unanimously approved a sole source design contract for Buford Hwy Streetscape to Atkins North America for $173,079.30.
     
  • The Council removed from the agenda a task order under the on-call engineering services contract to Heath & Lineback for $113,760.00 for sidewalk design along Chantilly Drive in order to consider other contractors at a future time.
     
  • The Council unanimously approved an agreement with Georgia Bridge and Concrete, LLC for $428,405.00 for the demolition of the existing bridge on W. Nancy Creek Drive over the tributary to Nancy Creek.
