City Council wrap-up for the May 24 meeting

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Brookhaven, GA, May 25, 2022 – The Brookhaven City Council acted on several items in its May 24 meeting: 

  • The Mayor and Council held a public hearing and subsequently approved an amendment to Chapter 27, Article V, Buford Highway and Peachtree Road Overlay Districts for an art incentive text amendment.
  • The Mayor nominated and Council subsequently approved the reappointments of Lori Gray and Sean Pharr to the Park Bond Oversight Committee.
     
  • The Council unanimously approved a consent agenda which included:
    • The minutes of the May 10 Work Session and Regular Meeting.
    • An application to the US Department of Justice Bullet Proof Vest Partnership.
    • An application to the US Department of Justice Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS).
    • A task order authorization - Paving Utility Locate (SUE) 2021 - 2023 Paving Programs.
    • A resolution for temporarily extending building and land development permits an additional 90 days prior to expiration.
