City Council wrap-up for the March 26 meeting

Brookhaven, GA, March 26, 2024 – The Brookhaven City Council acted on several items in its March 26 meeting:

  • The Council approved consent agenda which includes:
    • The minutes of the March 12, 2024, Work Session and Regular Meeting.
  • The Mayor and Council received a presentation on deer herd management in the City of Brookhaven.
  • The Council approved an ordinance to modify the 2024 authorized position list.
  • The Council approved an ordinance to amend the 2024 General Fund and CIP budgets to appropriate $50,000 from the General Fund Sidewalk Fund Assigned Fund Balance for sidewalk infill projects.
  • The Council approved an ordinance to amend the 2023 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST II) fund for 2024, appropriating revenue for the bond financing, appropriating expenditures.
  • The Council approved an ordinance to grant an easement and waive applicable provisions for fence construction in the right-of-way of a public road for the property located at 1172 Kendrick Road.
  • The Council approved a three-year agreement with C.W. Matthews for the 2024-2026 street paving program for $20,431,271.
  • The Council approved a three-year agreement with Geo-Hydro Engineers for construction inspection and material testing services related to the 2024-2026 capital street paving program for $120,767.
  • The Council approved a resolution to extend the IGA with DeKalb County for the QT property.
  • The Council approved an agreement with Georgia Power to approve the Citywide streetlight LED conversion.
  • The Council approved a task order for project management / oversight for the 2024 - 2026 Paving Program by Lowe Engineers for a three-year period for $630,500.
