City Council wrap-up for the June 28 meeting

Brookhaven, GA, June 28, 2022 – The Brookhaven City Council acted on several items in its June 28 meeting: 

  • The Council adopted the FY 2022 Millage Rates for General Operations (2.74 mills), General Obligation Bonds (0.55 mills), Special Tax District #1 (6.45 mills), LaVista Park Special Tax District (3.5 mills) and the Special Service District (4.00 mills).
  • The Mayor and Council held a public hearing to announce the development of the Brookhaven 2022 CDBG Action Plan.
  • The Mayor and Council held public hearing on Amendment #1 to 2021 CDBG Action Plan.
     
  • The Council unanimously approved a consent agenda which included:
    • Approval of an amendment to 2021 CDBG Action Plan.
    • Approval of a resolution to authorize the City Manager to approve the contract with Tri-Scapes Inc for construction of Langford Park in the amount of $1,096,096.
    • Approval of a change order to BM&K for additional fencing for the Public Safety Building in the amount of $53,249
       
  • The Council unanimously approved an ordinance to amend the 2022 General Fund Budget, appropriating an amount not to exceed $1,100,000 for the construction of Langford Memorial Park.
  • The Council held a second read and unanimously approved the ordinance to amend the Charter of the City of Brookhaven to correct a conflict in the powers of the City government to reflect the original intent of the charter and establish an effective date.
