City Council wrap-up for the Jan. 23 meeting

Brookhaven, GA, Jan. 23, 2024 The Brookhaven City Council acted on several items in its Jan. 23 meeting:

  • The Mayor and Council deferred a public hearing and consideration of Ashford Green Ventures, LLC - modification of conditions to allow an age-restricted residential development with assisted living and personal care, and a Special Land Use Permit to allow a multi (4+)-unit residential development at 4170 Ashford Dunwoody Road.
     
  •  The Mayor and Council held a public hearing and subsequently approved an annexation  and rezoning from R-85 to ANX to allow existing detached single-family houses to remain in accordance with uses for the previous jurisdiction at 2760 Briarcliff Road and 2030 Cliff Valley Way.
     
  •  The Special Land Use Permit to allow for a child care facility at Brookhaven United Methodist Church at 1366 North Druid Hills Road was withdrawn.
  • The Mayor and Council approved the reappointment of Anibal Torres, Artimus Hart, Christian Sigman, Holland Muscio, Susan Oh, and appointment of Jason Storm to the Brookhaven Convention and Visitors Bureau Trustees.
  • The Mayor and Council approved the reappointment of Lori Gray, Deborah Proctor, Mickey O’Brien, and James Baugnon to the Parks Bond Citizens Oversight Committee.
  • The Mayor and Council approved  the reappointment of Michael Runestad and the appointment of Juan Sierra and Boyce Griffin Sims to the Board of Appeals.
  • The Council approved consent agenda which includes:
    • The minutes of the Jan. 8, 2024, Special Called Meeting.
    • The minutes of the Jan. 9, 2024, Work Session and Regular Meeting.
  • The Council approved a resolution for an application to US Department of Transportation for the 2024 RAISE Grant.
     
  • The Council approved an authorization to sign the project framework agreement with GDOT for the Brookhaven Vehicular Bridge over I-85.
  • The Council approved the update to the ADA Transition Plan.
