City Council wrap-up for the Aug. 9 meeting

Brookhaven, GA, Aug. 9, 2022 The Brookhaven City Council acted on several items in its Aug. 9 meeting: 

  • The Council unanimously approved a consent agenda which included:
    • The minutes of the July 26 Work Session and Regular Meeting.
    • A change order for Woodwind Construction for additional equipment to lower Murphey Candler Lake level in the amount of $100,838.
    • A speed permit LOR for the City of Brookhaven.
  • The Council unanimously approved a resolution for the adoption of the City Centre Master Plan.
  • The Council unanimously Adoption of the Brookhaven 2021 CDBG Action Plan.
  • The Council held a public comment availability for the Special Services District.
  • The Council unanimously approved an ordinance to amend the 2022 Confiscated Assets Fund Budget, appropriating $43,840 from the Confiscated Assets Fund Reserve Balance for the purchase of drone equipment.
  • The Council unanimously approved a task order to Heath & Lineback for $350,000 for the design of a replacement bridge on W. Nancy Creek Drive over the tributary to Nancy Creek.
  • The Council approved a memorandum of understanding with LifeLine Animal Project for the sponsorship of pets for all Brookhaven residents and City employees.
