City Council wrap-up for the Aug. 23 meeting

Brookhaven, GA, Aug. 23, 2022 – The Brookhaven City Council acted on several items in its Aug. 23 meeting: 

  • The Council unanimously approved a consent agenda which included:
    • The minutes of the August 9 Work Session and Regular Meeting.
    • A facility use agreement for use of the meeting room at the Briarwood Park Recreation Center for the upcoming school year for their afterschool program.
    • A contract with AXON for the New Public Safety Building Interview Rooms for Audio and Video Recording Needs in the amount of $86,138 to be paid over five years.
       
  • The Mayor and Council deferred an ordinance amending the Brookhaven Zoning Code - Chapter 27, Article VII, Division 4, Section 27-588 - TA22-02 - Household Living (adding seven varying unit sizes).
     
  • The Council unanimously approved a resolution designating projects for the Urban Redevelopment Agency.
  • The Council unanimously approved a change order for Lose & Associates for the design and engineering services for the LCI (Livable Centers Initiative) improvements at Brookhaven Park that fronts Peachtree Road in the amount of $120,500.
  • The Council unanimously approved an ordinance to amend the authorized position list for the City of Brookhaven
     
  • The Council unanimously approved an ordinance to amend the authorized position list for the City of Brookhaven.
     
  • The Council unanimously approved an ordinance to amend the 2022 Vehicle Replacement Fund Budget to appropriate $350,000 for the purchase of Five Ford F150 Lighting Vehicles for the Police and Parks & Recreation Departments.
