City Council wrap-up for the April 25 meeting

Brookhaven, GA, April 26, 2023 – The Brookhaven City Council acted on several items in its April 25 meeting:

• The Mayor and Council deferred the rezoning by Structure Properties, LLC of 1348 Windsor Parkway, 3147 and 3153 Osborne Road and 1153 Victoria Street from C-1 (Local Commercial) and RS-75 (Single Dwelling Detached) to NS (Neighborhood shopping) with concurrent variances to allow a neighborhood scale commercial development.  The request was sent back to the Planning Commission for review.
   
• The Mayor and Council held a public hearing for the Community Development Block Grant 2023 Action Plan.

• The Mayor and Council approved a consent agenda which included:
   
  • The minutes of the April 11, 2023, Work Session and Regular Meeting.
  • Approval of the application to the US Department of Justice Law Enforcement Mental Health Wellness Act Grant.
  • Approved a settlement and release agreement with BM&K.
     
• The Council unanimously approved an ordinance to approve the Amended Authorized Position List of the City of Brookhaven.
   
• The Council unanimously approved on-demand right-of-way acquisition services for three firms: Gresham Smith, Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson, Inc., and THC, Inc.
   
• The Council unanimously approved a resolution recognizing Georgia Cities Week, April 23-29, 2023.
   
• The Council unanimously approved an ordinance to amend the 2023 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) Fund and the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Fund Budget.
