City Council business meeting on Sept. 12

Brookhaven, GA, Sept. 11, 2023 – The Brookhaven City Council will conduct its next regularly scheduled business meeting Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 7 p.m., at Brookhaven City Hall, 4362 Peachtree Road NE, in Brookhaven. While the meeting will be held in person, the public can participate in public hearings and public comment remotely via Zoom video conference.

Residents can submit public input by any of the following options:

A live stream of the meeting can be viewed on the City’s website at www.BrookhavenGA.gov (under the City Hall tab, go to “Agendas and Minutes”).

The business meeting contains the following for City Council consideration:

  • A proclamation in recognition of Mexican Independence.
  • A recognition of the achievements of the Brookhaven State Swim Team.
  • The reaffirmation of the appointment of Jeremy Berry as City Attorney
  • A consent agenda which includes:
    • The minutes of the Aug 22, 2023, Work Session and Regular Meeting.
    • A resolution to approve a contract with NOVA Engineering for City Hall special inspections for a total amount not to exceed $400,000
    • A resolution approving the 2024 benefit renewal rates through Cigna.
  • An ordinance to amend the 2023 Stormwater Fund and General Fund Budgets, appropriating $600,000 from the Stormwater Fund Unrestricted Fund Balance and $900,000 from the General Fund Unassigned Fund Balance to the Capital Improvement Program Fund for additional funding in the Briarwood Park Improvement Project; approval for reimbursement of the General Fund from 2023 SPLOST proceeds.
     
  • Consideration of the Briarwood Park contract
     
  • An ordinance to update authorized position list.
  • Consideration of contingency funds for the Peachtree Creek Greenway Phase II right of way acquisition task order for Gresham Smith in the amount of $40,000.
  • An ordinance to further amend the Code of Ordinances of the City of Brookhaven, Georgia, Chapter 4, “Alcoholic Beverages,” regarding drinking alcoholic beverages in a public place, and for other purposes.
