City Council business meeting on Nov. 8

Brookhaven, GA, Nov. 8, 2022 – The Brookhaven City Council will conduct its next regularly scheduled business meeting today, Nov. 8, at 7 p.m., at Brookhaven City Hall, 4362 Peachtree Road NE, in Brookhaven. While the meeting will be held in person, the public can participate in public hearings and public comment remotely via Zoom video conference.

Residents can submit public input by any of the following options:

A live stream of the meeting can be viewed on the City’s website at www.BrookhavenGA.gov (under the City Hall tab, go to “Agendas and Minutes”).

The business meeting contains the following for City Council consideration:

  • A public hearing and consideration of a rezoning ordinance by Dennis J. Webb to rezone properties at 3086, 3074, & 3086 Osborne Road from RS-75 (Single-Dwelling Detached) and RS-100 (Single-Dwelling Detached) to RS-75 (Single-Dwelling Detached) to allow a combination plat; and a Special Land Use Permit to allow development of a school recreational facility.  This was deferred from the Oct. 25 meeting and there is a request to defer this item to the Nov. 29 meeting due to election day being held on Nov. 8.
     
  • A public hearing on the proposed FY 2023 Budget. This is the first of two public hearings on this item.  No action will be taken by the City Council at this time.
     
  • A public comment availability, including a presentation by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated.
  • A consent agenda which includes:
    • The minutes of the Oct. 25 Work Session and Regular Meeting.
    • Approval of FY 2023 Mayor and Council Regularly Scheduled Meeting Calendar.
    • A change order to Ohmshiv Construction, LLC for $102,715 for construction of the intersection of Peachtree Rd and Ashford Dunwoody Rd.
       
  • A right-of-way abandonment at 1707 Lynmoor Drive and 1623 North Druid Hills Road.
     
  • An ordinance to amend the 2022 Special Service District (SSD) Fund Budget to appropriate revenue and decrease expenditures in the amount of $720,000 in the SSD Fund, appropriate expenditures in the amount of $350,000 to fund additional services to the Sizemore Group LLC Agreement for the City Hall Project, appropriate expenditures in the amount of $300,000 to fund additional services for Comprehensive Program Services (CPS) for the City Hall Project, appropriate expenditures in the amount of $70,000 for additional funding of the 2023 Cherry Blossom Festival.
  • A contract with ALTA Planning & Design for $179,784 for the preparation of a multi-modal study for the City of Brookhaven.
