City Council business meeting on May 9

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Brookhaven, GA, May 8, 2023 – The Brookhaven City Council will conduct its next regularly scheduled business meeting Tuesday, May 9 at 7 p.m., at Brookhaven City Hall, 4362 Peachtree Road NE, in Brookhaven. While the meeting will be held in person, the public can participate in public hearings and public comment remotely via Zoom video conference.

Residents can submit public input by any of the following options:

A live stream of the meeting can be viewed on the City’s website at www.BrookhavenGA.gov (under the City Hall tab, go to “Agendas and Minutes”).

The business meeting contains the following for City Council consideration:

  • A public hearing and consideration of a rezoning by Land Hill, LLC at 2751 Buford Highway from M (Industrial) to O-I (Office-Institution) with concurrent variances; Special Land Use Permit to allow four+ household living and a Special Land Use Permit to increase building height. This was deferred from the March 28, 2023, meeting.
     
  • A consent agenda which includes:
    • The minutes of the April 25, 2023, Work Session and Regular Meeting
    • Approval of a resolution pledging to practice and promote civility in the City of Brookhaven
    • Approval of a resolution of the Brookhaven City Council to adopt sustainability ordinances in furtherance of the City’s intent to become certified as a Green Community
       
  • An ordinance to amend Chapter 12 Fire Prevention and Protection Article VI Open Burning Section 12-146 Permitted and Prohibited Burning, of the Code of the City of Brookhaven.
     
  • An ordinance to Amend Chapter 7, Section 7-25 International Plumbing Code and International Plumbing Code and International Mechanical Code and Section 7-118 Permits, of the Code of the City of Brookhaven.
     
  • Change order #1 to Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering for $120,000 for the Design of Ashford Dunwoody Multiuse Path Phase III.
     
  • Award the 2023-2027 MS4 (stormwater utility) inventory and assessment contract for $454,290 plus a contingency amount of $45,430 for total of $499,720 to Integrated Science & Engineering to be divided over a five-year term.
