City Council business meeting on May 10

Brookhaven, GA, May 9, 2022 – The Brookhaven City Council will conduct its next regularly scheduled business meeting Tuesday, May 10, at 7 p.m., at Brookhaven City Hall, 4362 Peachtree Road NE, in Brookhaven. While the meeting will be held in person, the public can participate in public hearings and public comment remotely via Zoom video conference.

Residents can submit public input by any of the following options:

A live stream of the meeting can be viewed on the City’s website at www.BrookhavenGA.gov (under the City Hall tab, go to “Agendas and Minutes”)

The business meeting contains the following for City Council consideration:

  • Appointment of Aixa Pascal and Holland Muscio to the Brookhaven Convention and Visitors Bureau (Explore Brookhaven).

 A public comment availability.

  • A consent agenda which includes:
    • The minutes of the April 26 Work Session and Regular Meeting.
  • A resolution in support of the submission of a Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) Right-Of-Way Encroachment Permit Application for the reconfiguration of driveway access into Cherokee Plaza Shopping Center and installation of an associated traffic signal along Peachtree Road.

 A Right-Of-Way Abandonment at 2328 Colonial Drive and Pine Grove Avenue.

  • A bid award to Cascade Springs Forestry for invasive plant removal (Project # PB19PR001) at Ashford Forest Preserve, Blackburn Park, Briarwood Park, LaVista Park and Murphey Candler Park Perimeter (Lower Dam) in the amount of $31,250.
  • A bid award to EcoAddendum / Reforest Atlanta for invasive plant removal (Project # PB19PR001) at Fernwood Park, North Druid Hills Greenspace, Osborne Park and Murphey Candler Park Perimeter (Upper Dam) in the amount of $284,390.
  • An ordinance to amend the 2022 General Fund Budget for the purchase of 1712 Duke Road, and 1731 and 1739 Tobey Road
  • A resolution to approve the acquisition of real property for a public purpose at 1712 Duke Road and 1731, and 7739 Tobey Road.
  • A ground lease and related documents between DeKalb County and City of Brookhaven for the Community Service Board (CSB) Building at Brookhaven Park.
