City Council business meeting on June 13

Brookhaven, GA, June 12, 2023 – The Brookhaven City Council will conduct its next regularly scheduled business meeting Tuesday, June 13 at 7 p.m., at Brookhaven City Hall, 4362 Peachtree Road NE, in Brookhaven. While the meeting will be held in person, the public can participate in public hearings and public comment remotely via Zoom video conference.

Residents can submit public input by any of the following options:

A live stream of the meeting can be viewed on the City’s website at www.BrookhavenGA.gov (under the City Hall tab, go to “Agendas and Minutes”).

The business meeting contains the following for City Council consideration:

  • Recognition of Brookhaven Finance Department and presentation of the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association.
  • The appointment of Sandra Bryant as City Clerk and affirming the positions of Deputy City Clerk Susan Hiott and Ann Marie Quill.
  • A public hearing regarding the FY 2023 millage rates.  No action will be taken during this meeting.  The next public hearing and approval will take place at the June 28 City Council meeting.
  • A public hearing and consideration of TA23-05: an ordinance to amend Chapter 27 Zoning Ordinance - Modifications to Land Use Requirements for the Buford Highway Overlay District.
  • A consent agenda which includes:
    • The minutes of the May 23, 2023, Work Session and Regular Meeting
       
  • An ordinance to amend the 2023 General Fund and the Capital Improvement Fund Budget appropriating Assigned Fund Balance in the General Fund and increasing expenditures in the Capital Improvement Fund.
  • A Kompan proposal for playground equipment ($583,315) and installation ($124,458) for Brookhaven Park - USA State Contract.
  • The TriScapes Agreement per ITB 23-103 for Brookhaven Park Improvements in the amount of $6,337,666.
  • A task order for $273,276 to Gresham Smith for acquisition of right-of-way for Peachtree Creek Greenway Phase II.
  • A task order for $156,745 to THC, Inc. for right-of-way acquisition services for Ashford Dunwoody Multiuse Path, Phase I.
