City Council business meeting on July 26

Brookhaven, GA, July 25, 2022 – The Brookhaven City Council will conduct its next regularly scheduled business meeting Tuesday, July 26, at 7 p.m., at Brookhaven City Hall, 4362 Peachtree Road NE, in Brookhaven. While the meeting will be held in person, the public can participate in public hearings and public comment remotely via Zoom video conference.

Residents can submit public input by any of the following options:

A live stream of the meeting can be viewed on the City’s website at www.BrookhavenGA.gov (under the City Hall tab, go to “Agendas and Minutes”)

The business meeting contains the following for City Council consideration:

  • The second public hearing for the Brookhaven 2022 CDBG Action Plan.
     
  • Recognition of Explore Brookhaven achieving the Benchmark of Excellence GACVB Gold Certification.
  • The appointment of Sharon Moskowitz to the Brookhaven Arts and Culture Commission.
  • A public comment availability.
  • A consent agenda which includes:
    • The minutes of the June 14 Work Session and Regular Meeting, and the minutes of the June 28 Regular Meeting.
    • A resolution amending the travel policy for the City of Brookhaven.
    • An amendment to extend the contract end date for EPD contract 751-190030, Stream Restoration for NF Nancy Creek from Murphey Candler Dam to Nancy Creek.
    • An amendment to extend the contract end date for EPD contract 751-190030, Stream Restoration for 751-200022, Stream Restoration for NF Nancy Creek from I-285 to Murphey Candler Lake.
    • An option agreement to Purchase Right-Of-Way at 1321 Briarwood Road for $55,850.
    • Payment to Murray Barnes Finister LLP for legal fees for development of the Urban Redevelopment Authority.
  • Change Order #2 to Freese & Nichols for $94,685 for additional services related to the streambank restoration of NF Nancy Creek.
     
  •  Change Order to Freese & Nichols for $16,452 for a stream restoration permit for NF Nancy Creek.
  • Change Order to Freese & Nichols for $15,637 for load reduction modeling - NF Nancy Creek Stream Restoration.
  • Change Order for $737,850 to Heath & Lineback Engineers, Inc. for additional design services for Peachtree Creek Greenway Phase II.
  • Purchase of Traffic Calming Devices from Bo Phillips Co. in the amount of $91,095.
  • The final report for the Dresden Drive Intersection Improvement Study as prepared by Gresham Smith.
  • A request for Right-Of-Way abandonment at Alta Vista Drive at Dresden Drive.
  • Change Order for FDR / Paving of alleyway on Skyland Drive - 2021 Paving Program, Allied Paving in the amount of $99,225.
     
  • A contract with Tri Scapes for $126,950 for 2022 ADA Ramp Repairs, CDBG / Local Project Funding.
  • An ordinance to amend the 2022 General Fund Budget to appropriate $100,000 for the engineering of the West Nancy Creek Rd bridge replacement, allowing for the creation of a project in the Capital Improvement Fund, and allowing for the reimbursement from the Special Service District to the General Fund.
