City Council business meeting on Dec. 19

Brookhaven, GA, Dec. 18, 2023 – The Brookhaven City Council will conduct its next regularly scheduled business meeting Tuesday, Dec. 19 at 7 p.m., at Brookhaven City Hall, 4362 Peachtree Road NE, in Brookhaven.

The business meeting contains the following for City Council consideration:

  • A public hearing to amend Chapter 27, Zoning, Article II, Division III and Article VI, Division II related to attached houses. 
  • A public hearing to amend Chapter 27, Zoning, Article II, Article VIII, and Article XIII related to accessory dwelling units.
  • A public hearing to rezone from RS-85 to RSA-5 and RS-85 to RS-85 with concurrent variances to allow a recombination plat at 1088 Hedge Rose Court, 1908 East Roxboro Road, and 3024 Shady Valley Road
  • The appointment of Stan Segal to the Brookhaven Development Authority.
  • A consent agenda which includes:
    • The minutes of the Dec. 6, 2023, Work Session and Regular Meeting.
    • A renewed facility use agreement with Universal Tennis Management for tennis management services.
    • Award the bid to Diversified Construction of Georgia, Inc. for the amount of $2,382,175 for Murphey Chandler II Park.
    • Approval for Brookhaven City Hall CM at Risk Contractor (McCarthy/Barnsley) to proceed with awarding trade partner contracts, in the amount of $2,206,728.
    • Approval of the 2024 Arts Cultural Commission meeting calendar
    • Approval of the 2024 Board of Appeals process and meeting calendar
    • Approval of the 2024 Land Use Process and Meeting calendar (Planning Commission)
  • An ordinance to amend the 2023 Special Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST II) for the 2024 Fiscal Year, appropriating revenue for the anticipated bond financing and appropriating expenditures.
  • An ordinance to amend the 2023 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Fund, Grants Fund and Stormwater Fund Budgets, recognizing the closing of Capital Improvement Program and Stormwater Fund projects, approving of transfers of residual appropriations to the original funding source.
  • An ordinance to amend the 2023 General Fund, Stormwater Fund, and Capital Improvement Program Fund, appropriating budgets in the General Fund, Stormwater Fund, and Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Fund.
  • A resolution to approve a contract amendment with Jacobs Engineering Group for Project Management Services for the Park Bond Capital Improvement Program in the amount of $155,250 from the Parks Bond Murphey Candler Park Project Balance to the Capital Improvement Management Project.
  • Approval of the 2024 Road and Stormwater Maintenance Agreement for Tri Scapes, Inc. in the amount of $1,021,200.
  • A request for additional funding of $37,350 for C. W. Matthews for the 2023 paving program.
