City Council business meeting on Dec. 13

Brookhaven, GA, Dec. 12, 2022 - The Brookhaven City Council will conduct its next regularly scheduled business meeting Tuesday, Dec. 13, at 7 p.m., at Brookhaven City Hall, 4362 Peachtree Road NE, in Brookhaven. While the meeting will be held in person, the public can participate in public hearings and public comment remotely via Zoom video conference.

Residents can submit public input by any of the following options:

The business meeting contains the following for City Council consideration:

  • A public hearing and consideration of TA22-04 and TA22-05: an ordinance to amend Chapter 27, Zoning, Articles V and IX, Overlay Districts and Landscaping and Screening.
     
  • The reappointment of Deborah Proctor, James Baugnon, and Mickey O'Brien to the Park Bond Oversight Committee.
     
  • The appointment of Henry Saxon to the Board of Appeals.
     
  • A City Hall update - Presentation of massing/scheme by Sizemore Group, LLC.
     
  • A presentation of the City Hall public engagement plan by the Collaborative Firm.
     
  • An ordinance to amend the 2022 the Capital Improvement Program Fund Budget to appropriate $305,000 from the Park Bond Projects in Exhibit A to the Capital Improvement Management Project for an increase in fees to the Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. Agreement.
     
  • An ordinance to amend the 2022 General Fund Budget appropriating $344,000 from the General Fund Assigned Fund Balance to fund the Special Service District City Hall Project.
  • A resolution approving issuance by the Urban Redevelopment Agency (URA) of its revenue bonds in the principal amount of $125,000,000 for the purpose of funding the Redevelopment Plan projects and authorizing the City to execute an intergovernmental contract to pay Special Service District revenues to the URA as repayment of the Bonds General Fund Assigned Fund Balance to fund Special Service District projects.

A consent agenda which includes:

  • The minutes of the Nov. 29 Work Session and Regular Meeting.
  • Approval of the 2023 Land Use Process and Meeting Calendar (Planning Commission), the 2023 Board of Appeals Process and Meeting Calendar, and the Arts and Culture Commission Meeting Calendar.
  • Approval of the task order for the Corbett Group for $147,700 for stormwater infrastructure improvements on Skyland Drive at Georgian Terrace.
  • Approval of the task order for Response Environmental & Site Services for $191,747.00 for drainage improvements on Lanier Drive.
  • Approval of the task order for Response Environmental Services for $105,463 for drainage improvements on Mill Creek Drive.
  • Approval of the facility use agreement for Up4Tennis, LLC.
  • Approval of a contract amendment with Jacobs Engineering Group for project management services for the Park Bond Capital Improvement Program.
  • Approval of an agreement with McCarthy/Barnsley for professional services related to the City Hall Project.
