Program Update Summer 2019

The City of Brookhaven is home to more than 300 acres of the most beautiful parkland in Metro Atlanta. With aquatics, hiking, sports facilities and playgrounds, Brookhaven’s parks truly offer something for everyone. In November 2018, the Parks Bond referendum passed to authorize up to $40 million in capital improvements to Brookhaven parks and facilities.

The Park Bond Oversight Committee has met monthly since its first meeting in March 2019. Each session has focused on different parks and projects with updates on progress from Jacobs (Parks Bond Program Manager) and design firms Clark Patterson Lee (CPL) and Lose Design.

CPL and Lose Design completed the master plan process for the Bond Program parks. The Committee’s acceptance of the design proposals is an important step in moving individual projects toward construction. Here are highlights of the progress in the past few months.
