City Council maintains same millage rate for fourth year in a row Brookhaven CFO: Lowest millage illustrates government efficiency Brookhaven, GA, June 28, 2018 – At a time when surrounding cities are facing the prospect of raising their millage rates, Brookhaven has opted for the fourth year in a row to keep its rate at 2.74 mills. The 2.74 millage is the lowest rate of cities in DeKalb County that assess a millage. The City Council adopted the rate at a special meeting today, following three public hearings. |

Brookhaven begins alcohol license suspension Fraudulent applications noted, suspensions begin in May Brookhaven, GA, April 23, 2018 – The City of Brookhaven has identified eight business with fraudulent alcohol license renewal applications and began the administrative act of suspending those licenses. “Based on the evidence gathered on April 7 your application provides false information by failing to acknowledge your business model. Accordingly, the application is fraudulent and violates City of Brookhaven Code,” the suspension letter states. The suspensions take effect May 18. |

Brookhaven to hold public hearings for 2017 millage rate Brookhaven, GA, June 8, 2017 – Residents are encouraged to attend upcoming public hearings for the 2017 millage rate. The first will be held Thursday, June 15, at 7 p.m. The second and third public hearings will be held Thursday, June 29, at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. After the final public hearing, the millage rate will be formally adopted at the June 29, 2017 meeting at 7 p.m. All hearings will be held in Brookhaven City Hall Council Chambers, 4362 Peachtree Road Brookhaven. |
