Ribbon cutting and family show set on the Community Green

North Boardwalk project also completed and ready to use
Brookhaven, GA, Sept. 23 – The public is invited to join Mayor John Ernst and Mayor Pro Tempore Linley Jones for a special presentation and ribbon cutting for the Community Green at 4455 Candler Lake East in Murphey Candler Park. The event will be held Thursday, Sept. 29, at 5 p.m.
The brief ceremony marks the official completion of the Community Green project, as well as the completion of the North Boardwalk across Murphey Candler Lake.
Following the ribbon cutting, there will be a performance geared for families by Michael Levine, co-founder of The Learning Groove music and movement company. Levine has performed at concerts, teacher workshops & keynotes throughout the nation. As a singer-songwriter, he has released four albums and has opened for such acts as Dave Matthews Band, Counting Crows, Live, Joe Walsh, and many more.
The Community Green and the North Boardwalk were funded by proceeds from the Parks Bond, overwhelmingly approved by Brookhaven voters in a 2018 referendum.
