Brookhaven approves first operating budget

The Brookhaven Mayor and City Council voted unanimously Tuesday, March 26  in support of a $16.465 million budget for Fiscal Year 2013.

The budget includes operating expenses for the city, including administration, police, community development, parks and recreation, public works, legal and other city services. This includes money to establish Brookhaven’s own police department.

 Pouring Permits

Until Brookhaven's Police Department is established, the City of Brookhaven has partnered with the City of Dunwoody and DeKalb County to temporarily issue Pouring Permits. Pouring Permit applications can be obtained via the City of Brookhaven’s website or in person from City of Brookhaven’s City Hall, City of Dunwoody’s City Hall, and DeKalb County. Permits must be filed at the City of Dunwoody City Hall for City of Dunwoody permits or the DeKalb County Permit Office for DeKalb County permits.  

City of Dunwoody Policies and Information
Background checks and fingerprinting services will take place at the City of Dunwoody’s Police Department, located at 41 Perimeter Center East, Dunwoody, GA 30346. The hours of operation are Tuesday and Thursday, 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. 
 Each shift at an establishment serving alcohol must be staffed with at least one individual with a permit.

The fee of $110 is due upon application by cash, check or credit card.

DeKalb County Policies and Information
Permits can be obtained at the DeKalb County Permit Office, located at 3630 Camp Circle, Decatur, GA 30032 (Old Police Headquarters). The Permit Office is open Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. AND 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. (last permit accepted at 3:45 p.m.). Information on what items are needed in order to obtain a permit can be found on the DeKalb County Permit web pageEach individual working in an establishment serving alcohol must have a permit.  

The fee of $35 is due upon application by cash, money order, or Visa/Mastercard credit or debit card.
