Councilman Bates Mattison was elected to represent District 3 in November 2012.
Mattison was raised in Atlanta and has resided in the Brookhaven Fields neighborhood for the last 17 years. He has spent the past 20 years working in healthcare. He currently works as a founding partner of Cosmetic & Laser Specialists.
Mattison has served on the Brookhaven Fields Civic Association for several years, including a term as president. He has also served on the Junior Board of MedShare International and is a member of the Georgia State University Robinson College of Business Young Business Leaders.
Mattison has a master’s in business administration in international business from Georgia State University, as well as bachelor’s degrees in business and German from the College of Charleston.
He is a member of Peachtree United Methodist Church, where he has served as an usher for eight years. Mattison and his wife, Stephanie Ellis, have two children, Miles and Kathleen. Mattison enjoys sailing, skiing and being outdoors with his family.
