Over the past year the city and a group of stakeholders have worked with Sustainable Water Planning and Engineering to develop the Nancy Creek Watershed Improvement Plan, now available for download below.
The Plan documents current watershed conditions based on field investigations and computer model analysis. The model was also used to predict future watershed conditions and evaluate the identified improvement projects. The result is a prioritized list of 43 recommended watershed improvement projects and additional recommended study areas. These improvement projects include new stormwater best management practices (BMPs) to collect and treat stormwater, stream restoration, and projects specific to City-owned Murphey Candler Lake. Input from the stakeholders group and from the public during the 4 public meetings guided the development of the projects and the draft plan.
