Early Voting underway

Brookhaven voters to decide District 4 council race, SPLOST & EHOST

Brookhaven, GA, Oct. 16, 2017 – The DeKalb County Office of Voter Registration and Elections has opened Early and Advance Voting in two locations for Election Day.

Voters in Brookhaven will see three referenda on the ballot: a one cent Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST), an Equalized Homestead Option Sales Tax (EHOST) exemption, and freezing existing property tax assessments.  Additionally, Brookhaven voters in Districts 2 and 4 will also see city council races on the ballot, although District 4 is the only contested race.

Two Early Voting locations will be open Monday through Friday, from Oct. 16 to Nov. 3, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at:

  • The DeKalb Voter Registration and Elections Office, 4380 Memorial Drive in Decatur, and;
  • Bessie Branham Recreation Center at 2015 Delano Drive NE., Atlanta

A third Early Voting location will be open on Oct. 30 to Nov. 3 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at: 

  • The Dunwoody Library, 5339 Chamblee-Dunwoody Road in Dunwoody.

All three early voting sites are also open for Saturday voting on Oct. 28 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Registered voters who do not vote in advance at any of the three Early Voting locations must cast ballots at their assigned precincts if they wait to vote Election Day, Nov. 7.
