Four local police departments join forces to celebrate National Night Out
Brookhaven, GA, July 21, 2017 – Brookhaven Police Department joins three other local police departments to engage bordering communities during National Night Out. Sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, National Night Out (NNO) is a nationwide event designed to encourage residents to engage with their local police departments. This event is celebrated annually on the first Tuesday in August. This year will mark the 34th annual event.
Four bordering agencies will join forces and bring their communities together for an evening full of entertainment, food, kid friendly fun and much more. The event will take place Tuesday, August 1st on Perimeter Mall located at 4400 Ashford Dunwoody Road, Atlanta from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The Police Departments of Brookhaven, Dunwoody, Johns Creek and Sandy Spring will have a display of patrol cars, SWAT vehicles and other specialty vehicles. In addition, the Sandy Springs Fire Department and the DeKalb County Fire/Rescue Department will also have fire trucks and other pieces of equipment on display. Police Officers and Fire/Rescue personnel will be on hand to answer any questions related to vehicles, personnel or public safety operations.
Additionally, many local businesses and community groups will have display booths set up. Music and entertainment will be provided, along with free food and drinks donated by many local stores and members of the community.
“NNO is a great way to improve community relations by bringing everyone together,” said Brookhaven Officer Carlos Niño. “In one event, we all can show unity and solidarity, with local law enforcement agencies, businesses, and citizens.”
