Brookhaven Parks and Recreation Department hosts the 3rd annual “It Starts in the Park 5K”

Brookhaven, GA, July 24, 2017 – On July 22, the City of Brookhaven’s Park and Recreation Department hosted the 3rd annual “It Starts in the Park 5K” with 93 participants.

This year the race benefited from the sponsorship of Publix, The Table Atlanta, H2H Wellness Centers, and the soon to be open Chamblee Whole Foods.

The race was attended by families and individuals from throughout the metro area with racers hailing from the City of Brookhaven to Statham, GA. Racers also ranged in age with the youngest being 7 and the most senior participant being 85.

Out of the 93 registered racers, Brookhaven native Robert Kuhn came in first place with a time of 19:02, averaging 6 minutes and 12 seconds per mile. Kuhn was followed by Tucker Locicero, who came in second place and Ryan Knight who came in third.
