Brookhaven alerts Medusa of alcohol license revocation

Brookhaven, GA, July 12, 2017 – The City of Brookhaven on July 11 gave notice to Medusa Restaurant & Lounge, 3375 Buford Highway, that the business’s alcohol sales license will be revoked in 15 days.

The City has cited several violations of city code and state and federal law, including employing unlicensed individuals to provide security services, allowing those unlicensed personnel to carry firearms, possessing modified firearms, and failure to report criminal activity at the business location.

“It is in the interest of the public’s safety and well-being that Medusa’s alcohol license is revoked,” said Brookhaven City Manager Christian Sigman. “Clear violations of city and state law that pose a danger to the residents and businesses of Brookhaven have occurred at this establishment.”

Medusa’s owner has the right to appeal the revocation to the City’s Alcohol Board. That appeal must be exercised within 15 days of the notice to avoid closing the business, and the appeal hearing must happen with 30 days of the appeal.
