Brookhaven appoints Charter Review Committee

Brookhaven, GA, July 03, 2017 – During Tuesday’s council meeting, Brookhaven Mayor John Ernst and City Council appointed five members to the Charter Review Committee.
Every five years, the City of Brookhaven is required by state law to review its Charter and make recommendations if necessary. The Charter Review Committee will provide a section by section review of the Charter and provide recommendations to Mayor and Council. Presentations will begin in November during public work sessions. Meetings and deliberations are open to the public and subject to the Georgia Open Meetings Act.
“We have an excellent panel rich in history and knowledge of the City of Brookhaven, I look forward to seeing their recommendations for our future, “said Mayor Ernst. “We have selected a cross-section of invested community stake-holders who we believe will bring a wealth of diversity and knowledge.”
The appointees are:
Kevin Fitzpatrick, lawyer who serves in the Board of Trustees, Oglethorpe University;
Rebecca Chase Williams, Former Brookhaven Mayor;
Pat Hoban, CEO of Capitol City Nissan;
Jennifer Owens, Deputy Director of the Georgia Budget and Policy Institute;
JD Clockadale, Brookhaven Police Foundation President.
